Adobe Photoshop 7
Adobe Photoshop 7 is an older version of the Adobe
photo-editing program line-up. It is used in image
editing and enhancing, as well as creating original
images. The program can take out red-eye, alter color
levels, change lighting, and change shadows. Adobe
Photoshop is one of the most popular tools used in
graphic design and development. Competing with Adobe
Photoshop are such programs as Paint Shop Pro (JASC) and
GIMP (open-source freeware).
This photo-editing application has a wide range of abilities and
unique tools and filters. Some of the tools featured in this program
include the clone tool, the magic wand, and the crop tool. The clone
tool can be used to keep the same texture and copy the background of
one area of a photo to another. The magic wand allows you to select
an area of the image to move it, remove it, or change it in any
place. The crop tool allows you to cut out pieces of the picture and
change the canvas size.
Adobe Photoshop 7 can be used to change the pixel resolution of an
image, the image size itself, and the canvas size. Other functions
of Adobe Photoshop are to colorize an image in any shade, make an
image black and white, invert the colors, and pixilated certain
parts. Adobe Photoshop also uses layers, which can be very helpful
in reverting back to a previous stage.
Photoshop has the function to open a myriad of different image types
as well as save images as different types. Photoshop has its own
file type (.psd) which is a type of file that includes layers. The
Photoshop file type is usually larger than other image file types
such as GIF and JPEG, and the file type can only be viewed when
running Photoshop.
Adobe Photoshop has become a universal tool and is a stand-alone
application that can run on many operating systems such as Windows,
Mac, and Linux. It is used in many classroom environments such as
digital imaging and digital photo. Modeling companies also use the
program to make the models appear slimmer or taller.
