Making Money from Photos and Even More With Photoshop

The first thing to do if you want to make money from photos is learn how to take great ones. In the world of commercial photography clarity sells. The subject of how to take a good photo is too comprehensive for one article, however the following is important:

· Have a decent camera.
· Know how to use it.
· Have an eye for detail and color.
· Be ready to grab an opportunity when it presents itself.

If you happen to be driving through the hills of Scotland and come across a lone piper (or even two), grab that camera. Watch for sunsets, moonrise, cloud formations and tree shapes. Keep a sharp eye on your pet for unusual poses, and visit your florist every so often. Flower pictures are surely many photographers’ bread and butter and they can be photographed in the light on your windowsill. Greeting card markets love photos of flowers, gardens and pets doing something unusual. Wildlife and nature are great for calendars and geographic magazines and educational markets.

Diversity is the keyword for topics in photography. The wider the range of topics you cover, the more likely you will be to get a sale. Anyone can make a good living from stock photos. Freelance photographer Lee Frost (UK) sells just as many photos taken from his own backyard as from exotic and far-flung locations. In fact he sold a picture of the dandelions in his garden to a natural health book. But if you love traveling, put your holidays to work for you. Travel guides, brochures and websites could be possible markets for your photos.

So what to do with that fantastic shot? The edges are sharp enough to cut with, while the clarity would bring tears of joy to many publishers. The main thing to aim for with any photo is to sell it to multiple markets. This is taken care of if you submit to a photo library. You don’t have to be responsible for selling your own stuff then, but since the word is ‘diversify’ aim to do both. Offer it to non-competing markets over several years, since you are not selling the copyright.

It is important for any photographer to keep a portfolio of his work to show. You never know when you’ll meet a prospective buyer who wants to look at your work and they will not be impressed if you have to rummage through a dusty desk to scrape them together. When you do score a sale, don’t
charge a pittance just because the picture only took a few minutes of your time. You’ve spent years learning your craft and your photos are worth a decent figure.

If you really know what you are talking about and can take a fantastic shot, think of submitting it to a photographic magazine, along with all the details of the precise equipment you used and a step-by step account of your procedure using Photoshop could supply you with these details from
the properties menu. A bit of a challenge maybe, but worth the effort. There are many other markets to consider and if you have Photoshop you could turn those Photo's into all kinds of magazine cover, newspapers Ad's and Logo's, catalogue Photo's, travel brochures and books. So grab that camera and start shooting.

Expand Your Business With Ebook

Businesses of all sizes are expanding with ebooks. So what is this thing they Call an ebook? An ebook is a paperless book in digital format that you can download to your computer, handheld or other reader device. It can be read by using a software program like Adobe (for .pdf formats) or Microsoft Word.

Here are several ways to expand your business operations by using ebooks.

Marketing – An ebook offers an inexpensive means of producing full-color marketing materials complete with graphics and audio components. Find good software like Adobe Photoshop or hire someone to help create your ebooks. Grab a digital camera and start snapping shots of your products, people using your products and services, your workers, etc. Then show off your Photo shots, your products and describe your services with awesome power-packed presentations; web pages with interactive links for sound, photo shop effects, visual presentations, communications (emails or forum posts) and more.

Education – When your products or services need explained, educate your prospects and clients with ebooks. Have sample or short versions available for trial offers or free downloads. Then include full-fledged detailed editions with product / service purchases. Educate with visual, sound, graphics, photo shop effects and interactive point-and-click methods. Invite questions and feedback from recipients for improvements on future product and service development.

Communications – How many times do you get an email asking the same question over and over again? Which requires a book-length answer? Maybe questions like, “How do you create a basic logo? Should I use Photoshop or what?” or “How to create a smart navigation bar for your website?” inspire lengthy replies. Well, now you can write one long reply, turn it into an ebook and send it out – over and over again and free up more time for other things. AND include your own marketing information inside so that readers can look you up on the Internet, pass your information along and give others the opportunity to also find you.

New Product – Use surveys and take polls for new product creation. Include a link to a web page with a questionnaire and free download for recipients upon completion.

Sales Reps – Arm your sales representatives with professional, top-notch full-color media / product / service information kits presented via your ebooks to share with local newspaper, radio, television and other media reps, visitors and potential clients at trade shows and other events. Scrapbooking With Adobe Photoshop Album

If you always wanted to get into scrap booking but didn't know where to start, then this information is for you. Scrap booking as we know it is the thing of the past, but thanks to Adobe Photoshop Album (Adobe’s Starters Edition) which allows you to manage and organize your digital photos. Yes, I said digital photos, but don’t stop reading yet, because I will share with you how you can turn those prints into a “digital” photo format. Adobe has re-created the name we were once familiar with “Scrap booking” into a more technology name like “Photoshop Album” giving us the options of leaving those scissors and paper in the drawer but giving us a host of options for cropping, color corrections and organizing our photos from a computer or workstation.
Photoshop Album gives you the art of presenting your photos and memories in 'scrapbooks'. If you have a lot of photos and mementos that have been shoved into drawers, and find it difficult to retrieve them in an orderly manner, then Photoshop Album is definitely for you.
Over the past few decades we used the old style photo albums for our photos, but they were boring and required a lot of work to keep them up to date and organized and most of the photo albums looked the same. And, not surprising but most photos never actually made it into a photo album because most people mainly procrastinated about sitting down and putting the photos into the albums, instead they were simply left in the developer's packets.
Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition has some limitations, but provides overall management, as well as tagging (drag/drop categories for your images), cropping, color corrections and more. You can also create PDF slideshows from selected images, quickly filtering your collection by assigned tags and navigation but the best part is that you can share your photos with others.
I have included an example of my best friend’s Wedding Photos and created a Wedding Theme that allowed me to organize the wedding Photos in one nice location. As pictured in the Photo above.
It would be so nice and exciting to show a gorgeous display of your prized memories to show off to your family and friends. Photoshop Album can solve this problem for you, for a very inexpensive price. And no, you don't have to buy a large scrap booking kit to get started; you can simply buy Photoshop Album then you’re on your way to a great Photoshop Album of families or friends. And now you don’t have to worry anymore with that old plain school scrapbook paper because of the acid in the paper which damages your photos.
There is no set way to organize your Photoshop Album, some people prefer to organize in chronological order and some don't, it doesn't really matter, as long as you're happy with the overall result. You can use your Album to tell a story or to simply display some of your favorite things, souvenirs or mementos from a special time or place. You can even layout your Photoshop Album based on a favorite theme, like Christmas, Easter or Birthdays or your summer vacation.

When you first head off to your local Computer Store or online you may become a little overwhelmed by the vast amount of software options available. Don't fret, Photoshop Album is Adobe’s Starter Edition for Photoshop and will be a great way to start learning how to design and create some great memory Albums for you, your families and friends. To get an introduction or see some great examples of what you can accomplish with Photoshop view our great selection of Free Photoshop Tutorials at http://www.psworkshop.net
Now regarding your printed Photos, you will need access to a scanner, which you may purchase at a very inexpensive price. Once you have access to a scanner you can scan those photos into your computer to create a digital image allowing you to use them in your new Photoshop Album. And just to mention another great feature of Adobe Photoshop Album is that you can scan your Photos right from Photoshop Album which will allow you to do cropping, adjusting or resizing your photos.

I hope this will give you the encouragement to start now capturing those great family photos and to finally start organizing your photos for the future, and looking much more attractive than a boring old photo album.
